The Pride Resource Network is pleased to announce that the Carlos F. Garcia Muentes Scholarship will be awarding $500 to one student every year. The inaugural award was set up to support and encourage current undergraduate students, international undergraduate students attending school in the US, all immigrants, including first-and second-generation immigrants-generation students or DACA recipients who are furthering their education.
The Carlos F. Garcia Muentes Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Carlos Garcia. Carlos emigrated to the United States from Manta, Ecuador to give his family a better life. His core values of family and unity are the reason his loved ones would like to continue his legacy and give back to the community.
The Scholarship Selection Committee, comprised of The Pride Resource Network board members and members of Carlos Garcia’s family will make the final selection to receive the scholarship. The selection is based on their review of the application and/or essay/video submission as it pertains to the topic of immigration.
Scholarship awards may be applied toward tuition, fees, or other costs directly related to undergraduate study.
We are always collecting donations for The Carlos F. Garcia Muentes Scholarship. Feel free to donate via the scholarship page or using PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo and select which program you would like the funds to be used for. Remember, 100% of your donation is tax-deductible and 100% of your contribution goes to those in need.
